On a Yahoo press release, the company announces the acquisition of Maktoob, the leading arabic internet portal (16.5 million unique users), founded by Samih Toukan and Hussam Khoury in 2000. With the deal Yahoo is hoping to bring its content portfolio like Yahoo! Mail, Messenger, Search, and its homepage to the arabic speaking world.
